Book Features

The text is clear and easy to read and uses a conversation style that is approachable for students. Terminology is appropriately defined, and the content is suitable for a variety of undergraduate levels.

Each chapter section also begins with a list of reading objectives that guide conceptual understanding, encourage active reading, and can be used as classroom learning objectives.

The text contains over 600 images and diagrams to illustrate concepts and aid learning.

Chapters end with a “What We Don’t Know” section to encourage student curiosity and promote discussion in the classroom.
